InflataFence FAQs

The base structure of our InflataFENCE® panels are made with a 1.1mm thick marine-grade PVC and hot welded together. Added layers are used to reinforce points around crucial areas. The mesh is made with a heavy-duty, double-woven polyester that cannot be easily torn. We do not compromise when it comes to design and quality. All raw materials used in our products are durable, high-quality, non-toxic and UV resistant.

Every InflataFENCE® kit includes an electric air pump that inflates and also reverses to deflate. It takes approximately 8-10 secs for 0.8m high panels, and 15-30 secs for larger 1.2m high panels. Additional pumps can be purchased if you wish. We have a selection of pumps to accommodate electric outlet, battery, cigarette lighter plug or manually. Find our pumps on our InflataFENCE Optional Extras page.

In addition to the materials we use, each model of our inflatable products have been shaped and designed with crucial measured dimensions to create optimum stability when installed properly. We also have anchor points scattered around crucial points of these platforms for tying down where needed. We provide guidance on the best installation techniques for each model.

The InflataFENCE® comes in two heights (0.8m and 1.2m). Watch this video: Dogs and Kids

When inflated to our recommended level of 4PSI, our InflataFENCE®, in line with all of our inflatable products are as HARD as TIMBER. In the rare event that you should puncture a hole in your fence, this can be fixed with the Repair Kit and instructions provided.

The InflataFENCE® comes with a Van Mesh Skirt that closes off the opening of the ‘U’ frame – restricting your pets or toddlers from crawling underneath the caravan/campervan. This is a blank canvas for users to self-install as described in FAQ 'How does Mesh Skirt attach to my van'.

In summary, you first have to ensure the fence is secured nicely against your van; then you attach the mesh skirt from one end of the fence to the other and hang it to your van. See below for detailed description of the process:
ATTACH FENCE PANELS TO VAN:
There are two ways you can attach our InflataFENCE® to your van:
1) We have built-in hinges on the side of the fence, and we provide joiner tubes, plus a set of self-adhesive rings (for you to stick to your van). The joiner tube gets threaded through the hinges + rings to connect your fence to your van. These rings will stick well to your van finishing, however, over time we suggest reinforcing them with either silicon, sikaflex or pop-rivets.
2) Alternatively, if you don’t wish to attach these rings onto your van, you can just butt up your fence closely to your van, and bash a rio bar through the hinges (inside the tubes we provide for extra protection of your panels) into the ground right next to your van. You can pick up rio bars from Bunnings. Both methods work and depends on personal preference.

ATTACH VAN MESH SKIRT:
We provide you with a mesh skirt size of 0.8m high x the length of the fence you order and accessories for van attachment. This skirt is made of a strong woven polyester mesh, with a PVC border and steel eyelets all around. This mesh skirt attaches to the fence length (from one end to the other), and is then hung along the van using a set of hooks we provide for you to attach to your van (using the 3m tape that’s already on the hooks, or with the recommended alternative option of treating this like a draught skirt and self-installing press studs instead *we provide in our tips videos). Once the top of the mesh skirt is nicely hung, the bottom edge of the skirt can be pegged into the ground, or tucked under your mat to close off all escape points. Adjustments: As every van is different, you may have to adjust afew things yourself to close off any gaps. Some people have obstacles like stairs or doors in the way, which becomes a hinderance for the skirt to sit against. If your van has this issue, we recommend cutting the skirt around these areas and adjusting where you hang it from. The skirt can be cut and you won’t have to worry about it tearing as it is made of a strong woven polyester netting. At the end of the day, the skirt is provided is a blank canvas for you to customise without worrying about damaging it. We show you different ways to do things, and you will receive a set of instructions with your order.

The valve is built to open up automatically when attaching the pump to it; and close up when removing the pump. You might need to reset the spring if it's not closing off when you've finished pumping. To reset, press your finger down on the middle button and turn it until the spring is up.

There are afew reasons for air leakage on any inflatable platform. We have a TroubleShoot page that will help you identify and fix the issues. In summary, this could be from a loose valve, cold weather which can cause contraction, or a small puncture.

Loose Valve:
If your InflataFENCE looses pressure at an usually high rate, check the valve as it could be too loose. Try to tighten the valve with the Valve Spanner that is included in the Repair Kit provided.

Weather:
When using your InflataFENCE® outdoors, the change in climate temperature will affect the air pressure inside it. It is law of nature that hot air takes up more space than cold air, therefore, if your fence feels like it’s loosing air, it’s most likely that the outside temperature has dropped. For example, if you’ve pumped up your fence in the hot afternoon sun, the fence will loose slight pressure as the temperature drops in the evening when it’s cool. Don’t worry about this as it is not leaking air, but you can still regulate the pressure as needed.

Puncture:
Accidents do happen and you may have sustained a hole in your InflataFENCE® panel. This can be easily fixed with the glue and PVC Patches from the Repair Kit. Follow the instruction video provided in your kit or refer to FAQ 'How to fix a puncture'
